MD Census and the Maryland Department of Planning (MDP) will host a session on the 2020 Census at MACo’s Summer Conference as part of MACo’s Solutions Showcase.
MACo’s 2019 Summer Conference, “Winds of Change,” will take place on August 14-17 at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, MD. Nearly 3,000 individuals from across Maryland will gather to discuss advancements and changes being seen at all levels of government, from cybersecurity to Phase III WIP to school funding.
With the 2020 Census less than a year away, it’s more important than ever that county officials understand the need and methods behind making sure all residents are counted. DHCD and MDP are here to help with a MACo Summer Conference Solutions Showcase session!
2020 Census: Get Trained to Get Your County Counted
The stakes are high for the 2020 census – every uncounted Marylander costs $18,210 over the ten-year federal budget cycle. These funds support critical, life-saving programs throughout Maryland’s counties, including Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP and Head Start. Be trained on how to create a Complete Count Committee (CCC) and how to train local organizations to set up their own CCC. Every jurisdiction should prioritize a full and accurate count for the 2020 census.
Wednesday, August 14, 2019, 11:00 am – 11:30 am
Room 210, Roland Powell Convention Center, Ocean City, MD
