Frederick County will host the first county-based cohort of the NASDA Foundation’s Farm2Food Accelerator in January 2027, offering farmers and food
businesses training to develop and market products made with locally sourced agricultural ingredients.
The Frederick County Office of Agriculture is bringing the 12-week program to the County to help agricultural businesses develop new products and expand their market opportunities. The initiative focuses on value-added agriculture, allowing farmers and food producers to generate additional revenue by turning agricultural ingredients into consumer products.
Presented by the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Foundation, Farm2Food connects participants with food industry experts from across the country. The program provides practical training in product development, food safety, marketing, pricing, and sales.
Frederick County will host the program’s first county-based cohort, providing local farmers and food entrepreneurs with access to national expertise while encouraging connections among agricultural businesses.
“Farm2Food will give local farmers the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to turn great ideas into successful products,” said Katie Stevens, Director of the Frederick County Office of Agriculture. “By creating more opportunities for value-added agriculture, we are strengthening farm businesses and supporting the future of agriculture in Frederick County.”
An informational session will be held virtually on October 22, from 4 to 5 p.m., for those interested in learning more about the program. Advance registration is required.
