There’s a Drone for That: Streamlining Public Services with Aerial Assistance at #MACoCon

Drone presence in local airspace is increasing along with the technology and applications that make them so appealing for public and private, as well as commercial and recreational use. They also represent a great opportunity for governments in particular to enhance and optimize service delivery for taxpaying residents. Everything from public safety and infrastructure assessments to delivering medicines and monitoring precious natural resources. Join this panel of experts to learn all about the innovative ways local and the state agencies are using drone technology and what lies ahead for further program adoption.

  • Description: The role of drones in government operations is moving beyond traditional public safety uses. While drones have become invaluable tools for emergency response and law enforcement, their potential reaches much further. State and local governments are increasingly using drones for infrastructure inspection, land surveying, environmental monitoring, traffic management, and even public communication during events. By integrating drone technology into departments such as public works, urban planning, and environmental services, local governments can improve efficiency, reduce costs, and make data-driven decisions. This session will highlight drone activations by government entities in Maryland and practical steps for deploying drones as a cross-functional asset in governance.
