The Maryland Census has developed a new initiative known as Census Champions to celebrate individuals or groups who have gone above and beyond to promote the census in their community. Census Champions are selected from nominations submitted to the Maryland Census office, and recipients are posted on their website. Maryland Nears Tenth Place in Census Reporting

Maryland is just six-tenths of a percentage point behind Indiana for the 10th slot in the census self-reporting rankings by state.  The U.S. Census Bureau's rankings show Maryland is narrowly behind Indiana for the tenth spot in the top ten self-reporting state numbers.
