The Wicomico-Salisbury Complete Count Committee is hosting a virtual art contest to demonstrate through art why completing the census is so important.
The Complete Count Committee is accepting submissions from artists in two categories: artists under the age of 18, who are asked to submit a painting or drawing depicting why the census is important, and artists 18 years of age or older, who are asked to submit a 30 second video of their experience completing the census.
Two winners will be selected for each age group. Winners under 18 will receive a rock painting kit and a $100 gift card to local restaurants, and winners over 18 will receive a $250 gift card.
The deadline for submissions is May 30, 2020. Submissions should be made by posting on Facebook, tagging the Salisbury-Wicomico 2020 Census Facebook page (@sbywicomicocensus), and using the hashtag #WicSBYCensusArt1 for children’s submissions, or #WiCSBYCensusArt2 for submissions from artists over 18.
