The Maryland State Board of Elections announced the launch of its voter resource phone app, Go Vote Maryland.
Researchers and students from the Empowering Secure Elections research lab at Towson University and the Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement at the University of Maryland developed the app in partnership with the Maryland State Board of Elections.
The free app is now available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The app gives voters another direct source for trusted election information from Maryland election officials. Voters can use the app to check their voter registration, find their polling place, review important election dates, report suspected misinformation, access frequently asked questions, and more.
“The app will be an invaluable tool helping voters access pertinent information to use their voice in the upcoming election,” said Jared DeMarinis, State Administrator of Elections. “The Maryland State Board of Elections continues to prioritize voter outreach, voter education, and election transparency. This app is another tool in our mission to ensure elections are verified, open, transparent, and empowering.”
Voters should continue relying on State and local election officials for accurate election information. Additional resources remain available on the Maryland State Board of Elections website, at local boards of elections, and through the State’s online disinformation reporting portal.
