Feb 28: First Meeting of the Blueprint Outcome Measures Workgroup

A workgroup tasked with developing outcome and evaluation measures related to the Blueprint is set to kickoff on February 28.

The Blueprint Accountability and Implementation Board (AIB) is tasked with overseeing the implementation of Maryland’s major education policy reform initiative known as the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future (the Blueprint).

As part of its comprehensive implementation planning, the AIB has established a work group to help develop appropriate measures to evaluate Blueprint outcomes and if schools and jurisdictions are meeting the goals of the law. The group will consider the following:

  • Outcomes related to career and technical education
  • Outcomes related to teacher preparation
  • Outcomes related to behavioral health
  • Outcomes related to college and career readiness

The members of the Outcome’s Measures Workgroup were announced at the AIB’s Meeting on February 9th, 2023. Members include stakeholders from local school jurisdictions, education-based nonprofits and organizations, and higher education. Chairing the work group is University of Maryland Professor and Department Chair Laura Stapleton. Vice Chair is Joseph Manko of the Abell Foundation.

The first meeting of the work group will be held virtually on Tuesday, February 28 at 3 pm. The meeting will be live-streamed on YouTube.

The work group will also hold interactive working sessions to solicit public input and feedback.
