Several counties leaders are slated to present before the State Board of Education at its February meeting on Blueprint implementation from the county perspective.
The Maryland Association of Counties is proud to announce that the State Board of Education has invited several county leaders to brief board members at its Tuesday, February 28 meeting on the county experience thus far implementing The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future (The Blueprint).
The State Board will convene at 9 am in-person at the Baltimore City office of the Maryland State Department of Education. The meeting will also be live-streamed on the Board’s website. The county presentation is listed on the Board’s agenda at 10:15 am under the agenda item, “Stakeholder Engagement Session: Maryland Association of Counties.”
Speaking on behalf of counties are:
- Calvin Ball, Howard County Executive and MACo President
- Johnny Olszewski Jr., Baltimore County Executive and MACo First Vice President
- Jack Wilson, Queen Anne’s County Commissioner and MACo Second Vice President
- Ted Zaleski, Carroll County Director of Budget and Management
The county leaders will discuss county government’s experience and perspective thus far in implementing The Blueprint, including successful approaches, challenges, and opportunities for greater State-county partnership.
