Hackers are increasingly targeting states and local governments with sophisticated cyberattacks. Securing government information systems is critical, as a cyber intrusion can be very disruptive, jeopardizing sensitive information, critical infrastructure, public safety, and the delivery of essential services.
At the MACo Summer Conference Tech Expo, an expert panel will discuss new and emerging threats; explain how to leverage federal resources to secure IT systems and digital services; and share tips, best practices, and resources to deter, disrupt, prepare for, and respond to cyberattacks.
Title: Strengthening Security: Protecting Your Network from Cyberattacks
Description: In recent years, cyberattacks have threatened local governments’ ability to maintain operations and critical services. With the American Rescue Plan Act passage, federal dollars can now support local governments’ efforts to strengthen their information technology systems and improve cybersecurity protocols. As counties continue to transition many services online, cybersecurity and protecting online data has never been more important. In this session, a panel of experts will discuss how to leverage federal funding to secure IT systems and digital services.
