Washington County Appoints New Director of Human Resources

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners last week appointed Larry Etchison as director of Human Resources.

“I am excited and thankful to welcome Larry Etchison to Washington County as the County’s new Human Resources Director, said County Administrator John Martirano. “I am very impressed with Larry’s vast Human Resources experience and I believe he has the skill and ability to do great things for the employees of Washington County Government.”

According to a County press release:

Etchison comes to Washington County Government with extensive experience in human resources and management. His background includes experience in employee and labor relations, leadership development, employee engagement, improvement with waste/cost reductions, talent acquisition, benefits administration, labor planning, safety, regulatory compliance, and workers’ compensation claims management. His professional experience ranges from family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies. The County looks forward to welcoming Mr. Etchison as the new director for human resources.

Etchison served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he graduated from Community College of Allegheny County earning an Associate’s in Applied Science in Energy Management Technology. He then attended Geneva College earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management.
As the newly appointed director, Mr. Etchison said, “I am honored to have been given the opportunity to support the Commissioners, Mr. Martirano, the Human Resources Team, and most importantly the Washington County Government Employees who directly serve the Citizens and Taxpayers of Washington County.”
