Anne Arundel, Chesapeake Bay Trust Partner to Fund Forest Projects and Land Protection

Anne Arundel County and the Chesapeake Bay Trust have announced that they are partnering to fund cost-effective reforestation and greening projects.

The partnership will award $250,000 in the first round with a goal of implementing funding forestation and greening projects, as well as increasing the number of acres of protected forest land. Eligible projects include reforestation or afforestation of lands already protected under permanent protection, protection of lands that are already forested; or reforestation/afforestation and permanent protection of lands that are currently uneased and unforested. Organizations eligible for funding include land trusts and conservancies, civic groups, public agencies, and non-profits. The grants are competitive and a preference for projects within a designated watershed has been established. Matching grants are also encouraged.

The deadline for applications is August 6, 2020 at 4pm.
