Prince George’s County Offering Assistance to Struggling Federal Workers

Prince Georg’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks yesterday announced a relief package for county residents affected by the federal government shutdown. Alsobrooks joined county government agencies, United Way of the National Capital Area, Prince George’s Community College, and other private entities to provide details on relief services.

According to a statement from County Executive Alsobrooks:

Many Prince Georgians are living in uncertain times as the partial federal government shutdown continues. While our friends and neighbors are faced with making tough financial decisions, your government and its partners have worked collaboratively to provide relief. We hope these resources will offer some level of security and stability for your families during this difficult time. Please know that while things may have grinded to a halt in Washington, we are continuing to fight and serve on your behalf.

Our citizens will be able to see a list of all of our community resources, which we expect to grow.

The county launched a website to detail relief services available to residents affected by the shutdown.
