Anne Arundel Police Debrief Shooting; Consider New Equipment

The Anne Arundel County Police Department held a closed meeting, as a standard matter of policy, to analyze their response to the tragic Capital Gazette shooting. The review raised consideration of new, more appropriate equipment to address and respond to active gunmen.

As reported by The Capital Gazette:

The AR-15 assault-style rifles some officers carry were found to be too long and unwieldy to smoothly maneuver through crowded offices, and weapons with shorter barrels are being considered. New earpieces are also on the list, to allow officers to talk over radios without their conversations being overheard.
