The MACo and MarylandTech Expo Tech Council Tech Expo is a special one-day offering of MACo’s Summer Conference – it brings together technology vendors and experts with county and state government stakeholders to provide partnerships, education, and networking opportunities that will benefit the entire state.

1. THE EXHIBITS
The exhibit space has DOUBLED from last year – this year, we have 49 exhibitors waiting to talk to you about technology services and best practices that will keep your data safe, improve efficiency, and produce greater results than you knew were possible! The Expo is only on Wednesday, so don’t miss the vendors: 11 am – 4 pm

2. THE SESSIONS
We’re offering 2 deep dive sessions that will help you learn more about what tech can do for Maryland:

  • Biotech Bait: Can Maryland Net a Boom in Biotechnology?
    Maryland counties have a big stake in a potential boom of the biotechnology industry – if Maryland lands it. What is the county role in making Maryland an international hub for biotech? In this session, industry leaders share what they are looking for when they scope new locations, and what they need to grow in the land of crabs and corn.

  • Headsets On: Get Ready for Virtual Reality and the Social Shake-Up
    Virtual reality is one of the hottest and most mysterious types of tech, and its tempting serum, poured over snowballing social media use, could turn the way that government interfaces with the public into one heck of a snow cone. Virtual reality, often referred to as VR, has many applications that could enhance county government services, including tourism, economic development, and information science, with more to come.
