St. Mary’s Museum Fundraiser Offers Irresistible Combo of Jazz & Seafood

The Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival has long been considered the most unique and intimate jazz experience in Southern Maryland. The event, now in its 18th year, is slated for Saturday, July 8 at the St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’s Point, MD.

According to a St. Mary’s County press release,

This riverside event is presented by the Friends of the St. Clement’s Island and Piney Point Museums and the St. Mary’s County Museum Division, takes place on the lawn of the museum overlooking historic St. Clement’s Island, birthplace of Maryland. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefits museum education programs, preservation projects, exhibits, matching grants, and more.

This year’s lineup of jazz artists include JJ Sansaverino at 3p.m., Urban Jazz Coalition at 5p.m. and Paul Taylor at 7p.m.

Food vendors will include Chiefs –Your Neighborhood Bar, Days Off Deli & Grill, New Orleans by Myra, Mrs. Moo’s Ice Cream and The Nutty Bavarian of Southern Maryland.

Tickets are $65 for general public and are available for sale online now at www.facebook.com/potomacjazzandseafoodfestival and clicking the “Shop Now” link. Tickets must be purchased in advance (no sales at the gate.) Only 800 tickets are available and all sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. No rain date. Ticket price includes free parking, admission to the museum and an optional boat cruise around St. Clement’s Island State Park. The St. Clement’s Island Museum is located at 38370 Point Breeze Road, Colton’s Point, MD. The museum and grounds are handicap accessible.
