Frank Jaklitsch, former Calvert County Planner, passed away on March 16. He served as the planner for the county for 28 years and as the President of the MACo Affiliate – the Maryland Association of County Planning Officials. He was named “Maryland Planner of the Year” in 1989.
Mr. Jaklitsch attended Greensboro College but left after 2 years to enlist in the Army and was immediately sent to Vietnam. After returning from the war, he went on to complete his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland and received a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Catholic University.
He will be buried at the Arlington National Cemetery.
