2012 Winter Conference Session – What do Federal Cuts Mean for Your County

Friday, January 6 , 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM – Boxed Lunch Provided

The Federal Budget Control Act calls for substantial funding reductions over 10 years. While it is unclear at this time where these reductions will occur, it is clear that some reductions will affect local governments directly and others will have a “trickle down” affect. Panelists will discuss the actions of the “Super Committee,” the effects of these actions on local governments and the State’s economy, and how to prepare to accommodate these reductions in local budgets.

Speakers Include:

1) Edwin Rosado, Legislative Director, National Association of Counties
2) John Savich, Administrator, St. Mary’s County
3) General Michael Hayes, Program Director, Office of Military and Federal Affairs, DBED
