Maryland’s Transportation Enhancement Program Offers Funding to Public Art Projects

 Public art projects are now eligible for funding through the Maryland Transportation Enhancement Program (TEP).   Created as part of the Federal Highway Administration’s Surface Transportation Program and administered by the Maryland State Highway Administration, TEP is a reimbursable, federal aid program for transportation projects.  The Program supports communities in the development of projects that improve the quality of life and travel experiences through the enhancement of cultural, aesthetic, historic, and environmental aspects of transportation systems.  Examples of projects range from the preservation of historic buildings and highways to the placement of benches along trails.

Applications  will be accepted  January 3, 2011 through March 1, 2011.
