Virginia White, longtime leader of MACo’s conferences and Member Services team, named as Deputy Executive Director.

Virginia joined MACo in December of 2010 as Meetings and Events Director, and quickly established herself as an effective and forward-thinking leader. Her professional growth within the organization to Member Services Director, then Deputy Director, showcase her dedication to MACo’s mission and membership.

In Virginia’s time at MACo, the organization has seen noteworthy growth in conference attendance, educational offerings, and partnerships at all levels of government. Virginia oversees the full range of day-to-day functions involving the staff and continues to serve as the functional lead of the Member Services team. Importantly, and most visibly, she remains the lead coordinator of the summer and winter conference conferences – shepherding through the period of unmatched growth and success of those well-regarded events.

“Virginia has been the force behind so many of MACo’s successes,” said Executive Director Michael Sanderson. “I am pleased to recognize her role in leading and guiding all our efforts, including the behind-the-scenes hard work that it always takes.”

Prior to working with MACo, Virginia was the Director of Training & Special Events with the Maryland Association of Resources for Families & Youth (MARFY). Virginia graduated magna cum laude from Washington College in Kent County, Maryland, with a bachelor’s degree in art and computer science, and spent a semester studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She is also a graduate of the High Performance Leadership Academy. Virginia is a Maryland native, hailing from Charles County.
