Sofia Pablos-Aguirre Marks 5 Years With MACo

This month, Sofia Pablos-Aguirre completed her five year mark with MACo. She has taken on increased responsibilities as a critical part of the MACo team.

Ms. Pablos-Aguirre joined the MACo team in 2021, as the friendly face greeting visitors and managing the venerable building, as our Office Coordinator. In her time, Sofia demonstrated her commitment and leadership, earning her an advancement to her current role as Administrative Specialist, where she manages conference registrations, and coordinates multiple other functions within the organization.

If you have attended a MACo conference, joined a special event, received your state-issued local government security badge, or just about anything else through MACo, she’s behind the excellent service that made it happen.

Ms. Pablos-Aguirre also has completed her Human Resources certification through the Society for Human Resource Management, a multi-year effort to strengthen her work in HR matters on MACo’s behalf. She now serves as the organization’s primary HR official, and liaison with outside benefits administrators.

Prior to her MACo role, she worked as an Executive Assistant at a Florida law firm, and in Student Services at Florida International University. She also had her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University. Upon relocating to Maryland, she sought the role with MACo citing her professional goal: “set the standard, then exceed it.” That has borne out in her five years with the Association.

“Sofia is a pleasure to work with, and has the mindset to make things work,” said Executive Director Michael Sanderson. “She has earned our confidence to take on more and more for MACo, and delivers every time.”

Please join MACo staff and leadership in congratulating Sofia on marking her five year tenure.
