Allegany County voters selected three incumbent commissioners to represent the Republican Party in November, according to unofficial primary election results.
With all 30 precincts reporting, incumbent Commissioner Dave Caporale led the Republican field with 3,257 votes (21.8%). Incumbent Commissioner Bill Atkinson followed with 2,550 votes (17.1%), while incumbent Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr. received 2,540 votes (17.0%).
Dee Dee Ritchie received 2,227 votes (14.9%), followed by Seth Bernard with 2,029 votes (13.6%). Leona McTaggart received 1,332 votes (8.9%), and David Alan Robison received 985 votes (6.6%).
Because voters could select up to three candidates, Caporale, Atkinson, and Brodie secured the three Republican nominations for County Commissioner.
On the Democratic side, Chelsea Boor received 1,459 votes (54.7%), while Carol Taccino received 1,209 votes (45.3%). As the only two Democratic candidates to file for the three commissioner seats, both will appear on the November ballot.
The November election will feature Republican nominees Dave Caporale, Bill Atkinson, and Creade Brodie Jr. and Democratic nominees Chelsea Boor and Carol Taccino.
