Dorchester Council Primaries Finalize November Matchups

Dorchester County voters selected nominees for several County Council races Tuesday, including contested Democratic primaries in Districts 2 and 5.

District 1

David Wayne Beverley II secured the Democratic nomination with 216 votes (100%).

Robert Edwin Kramer Jr. secured the Republican nomination with 758 votes (100%).

Beverley and Kramer will face one another in the November general election.

District 2

Yvonne D. Penn won the Democratic primary with 221 votes (68.2%), defeating William Nichols, who received 103 votes (31.8%).

No Republican candidate filed for the seat.

District 3

Ricky C. Travers secured the Democratic nomination with 352 votes (100%).

Grady Wilson Jr. secured the Republican nomination with 350 votes (100%).

Travers and Wilson will face one another in the November general election.

District 4

Lenny Pfeffer secured the Republican nomination with 561 votes (100%).

No Democratic candidate filed for the seat.

District 5

Semuel Thompson Jr. won the Democratic primary with 124 votes (67.8%), defeating Christopher Luke Posko, who received 59 votes (32.2%).

Mike Detmer secured the Republican nomination with 734 votes (100%).

Thompson and Detmer will face one another in the November general election.
