Sea level rise will significantly change Maryland’s geography. Hear from panelists about what options are available to help prepare for this reality.
One of the most lasting impacts of climate change will be how it shapes Maryland’s landscape. Large portions of Dorchester and Somerset are projected to be underwater, and in Annapolis, the Naval Academy has openly discussed the idea of relocating. None of this is unique, either. MACo’s A Rising Tide: How Maryland is Bracing for Sea Level Rise panel will dive deep into what Marylanders can expect as a result of sea level rise and what options are on the table to mitigate against this fast-approaching reality.
Description: As climate change continues to wreak havoc, sea level rise is fast becoming one of the quintessential challenges facing state and county leaders. From housing to infrastructure, recreation to revenues, Maryland’s relationship with its coast runs deep, impacting many facets of modern life.
