Montgomery County has announced the individuals, businesses and organizations that will receive recognition for excellence in waste reduction, reuse, and recycling.
As part of their 22nd Annual Recycling Awareness Week, Montgomery County is recognizing local leaders who set an example for all residents. From volunteering time to promote County recycling efforts to increasing recycling and diversion rates, more than twenty groups will be recognized.

“These leaders demonstrate, that even in difficult times, they are committed to reducing waste and recycling everything that can be recycled in County,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “These efforts benefit our entire County and our environment.”
“The past year has been a challenge for everyone. Yet, many businesses, multi-family properties and individuals continued to focus on efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle right,” said DEP Director Ortiz. “This week, we are highlighting some of these outstanding efforts. DEP congratulates each of our recognition recipients and thanks all of them for dedicating time and efforts to Montgomery County’s recycling program. They are helping us reach our ambitious goal to reduce waste and recycle more as we aim for zero waste.”

Multi-Family Property—Green Team Leader of the Year
Business—Outstanding Efforts in Waste Reduction and Recycling
Business—Waste Reduction and Recycling Champion Awards
