Carroll Approves Balanced Budget, Holds Line on Taxes

The Board of Carroll County Commissioners (BCC) this week voted to adopt the fiscal 2022 budget. The BCC also voted to hold property tax rates steady and accepted a resolution to increase compensation for members of the Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Board of License Commissioners.

“I am proud of the way worked through the budget process; we listened to the public and our partners, learned along the way, and led together to adopt the FY22 Budget and FY23-27 Operating Plan,” said Commissioner Ed Rothstein, President of the Board of County Commissioners.

As previously reported on Conduit Street, the County’s fiscal 2022 budget — which keeps tax rates steady — fully funds the Maintenance of Effort requirement for Carroll County Public Schools, invests in local infrastructure, finances key public safety initiatives, and supports community priorities.

The fiscal 2022 Adopted Budget Summaries will soon be available on the Carroll County website.
