The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) has awarded Prince George’s County Department of Public Works & Transportation
(DPW&T) over $25.4 million through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Low or No Emission grant program.
The new funding will support the acquisition of new zero-emission battery electric fixed-route buses, battery-electric vans, and Level 4 electric chargers. Additionally, it will fund the construction needed to complete a new microgrid and energy management system. These advancements will create jobs for Prince Georgians, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance transit access across the County.
