Blueprint Accountability and Implementation Board Seeking Applicants

The Accountability and Implementation Board, charged with overseeing the rollout of the ambitious “Blueprint for Maryland’s Future” educational program across Maryland, has seats available – applications are due by May 17.

Background: The Accountability and Implementation Board (AIB) is a seven-member board appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, charged with holding State and local governments, including county boards of education, accountable for implementing the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and evaluating the outcomes achieved against the goals of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and the Commission on Innovation and Excellence in Education during the implementation period 2021 through 2032.

Applications for a position on the AIB will be available beginning on May 3, 2024. A completed application and resume must be submitted to the Nominating Committee by 8:00 p.m. on May 17, 2024.

• The subject line must say APPLICATION and your name
• Due by 8:00 p.m. on May 17, 2024

• References to be provided to the Committee on request

• Candidates may be contacted to schedule interviews with the Committee

• Slate of nominees to be announced by Committee by mid-March (at two nine nominees required)

• Governor has 30 days to select one member from slate of nominees

Additional Information:

Confidentiality: Only the names of the individuals who are nominated by the Committee will be made public. All information submitted by applicants will remain confidential and will not be subject to public disclosure.

Suggested Candidates: The Committee will only be accepting and considering applications from individuals who are applying for a position themselves. If you have a suggestion for a candidate, please send the individual a link to the Committee website or the application packet.
