MACo has welcomed Claire Austin-Washburn to the MACo Team in Annapolis – she will contribute to member services and office management as the Administrative Assistant.
Earlier this month, MACo welcomed a new member to its staff, Claire Austin-Washburn. Ms. Austin-Washburn, a recent graduate from Goucher College, got a taste of the Maryland political scene serving as a session intern with Delegate Robbin Lewis.
“We are excited to have Claire as part of the team here in Annapolis, and working toward our annual conference in August,” said Michael Sanderson, MACo Executive Director. “She has impressed in her roles academically and in policy work, and should be a real asset for our member counties.”
Ms. Austin-Washburn has studied multiple languages amidst her academic interest in international affairs and helped Delegate Lewis with legislation promoting multilingualism during the 2023 General Assembly session. She received her degree in political science and philosophy from Goucher and spent part of her collegiate time studying abroad in South Korea.
Look for Claire, and the rest of the MACo team, at the upcoming MACo Summer Conference!
