On July 13th, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is holding a webinar on pre-incident planning for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear waste management.
The webinar arises out of a major capability gap identified in overall Homeland Security Response and Recovery preparedness. During the webinar, presenters will help guide attendees through the latest version of an online tool created by the EPA to help planners and emergency responders develop waste management plans. The EPA describes the planning tool as follows:
This tool provides a framework to help managers, planners, and responders initiate plan development, providing variable degrees of assistance from simple outlines of plan contents, to providing scenario-specific waste quantity value estimates to use in developing a plan. It also includes detailed information on waste management facilities and information on transportation options.
Presenters include two representatives, Paul Lemieux and Anna Tschursin, from the EPA. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 13th from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, and interested individuals can register here.
