The Carroll Technology & Innovation Council (CTIC) awarded the Carroll County Department of Economic Development with its 2020 Community Partner of the Year award.

The CTIC honored the County Department of Economic Development with its Community Partner of the Year award at its “Tech the Halls” holiday event on December 9 at SKAYL in Westminster, during which it recognized outstanding members for 2020 and 2021.

According to a Carroll County press release:

The Department of Economic Development’s award acknowledged “the tireless and exceptional work done during the pandemic to provide information and grants to Carroll’s small businesses, nonprofits, hotels/motels, and restaurants.”

Throughout the pandemic, the department awarded more than 2,000 local businesses with over $8.2 million dollars sourced from local, state, and federal funding.

“I am so proud of our dedicated team effort to keep businesses informed and to provide grants to our companies in their time of greatest need,” said Director of Economic Development Jack Lyburn.
