Montgomery to Offer Immunizations for Children Returning to School

Montgomery County is offering free immunizations to eligible children for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year, as immunization requirements remain in effect.

Although it’s being held virtually, children returning to school on August 31 are required to immunizations up to date and documentation must be submitted by the first day of attendance. Students not in compliance with immunization requirements may be excluded from school beginning September 20.

Children age 18 years or younger must meet at least one of the following criteria to be eligible for free immunizations:

  • Child does not have health insurance
  • Child is covered by Medical Assistance
  • Child has health insurance that does not cover vaccines
  • Child is Alaskan native or American Indian

​Children with private health coverage should schedule immunization appointments with their primary health care provider. Appointments are available at:

There will be two additional clinics offered on Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 at the Dennis Ave. Health Center location.
