Flight of the Data Navigator

The Governor’s Office of Performance Improvement will lead a roundtable on open data solutions for county governments at MACo’s Summer Conference.

Open data – the sharing of government budgets, statistics, and other public information in digestible formats – continues to be a hot topic as new sharing platforms emerge. In Maryland, some counties invest heavily in data and stat programs through dedicated staff and focused initiatives, while others steadily improve their county website offerings with snapshots of annual budgets and status reports on major projects.

Alongside the work of local governments, the Maryland Governor’s Office of Performance Improvement continuously expands available datasets from State agencies and other sources on the Maryland Open Data Portal, improving transparency and bolstering a potential resource for county governments.

Whether your county has an open data initiative or you’re interested in hearing more about what’s happening statewide, you are welcome to join this discussion, lead by Mike Morello, Director of the Maryland Governor’s Office of Performance Improvement.

The roundtable will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm, at the Ocean City Convention Center.
