The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism is soliciting nominations for its inaugural Youth Service Awards. The awards are given to deserving youth (11 to 18 years old) or youth groups who have rendered an outstanding service to Maryland and its residents during 2018 and 2019.
Nominations are due by the close of Friday, June 7, 2019.

Recipients of the Youth Service Awards must exemplify the following characteristics:
- Demonstrate volunteer commitment to meeting Maryland’s most pressing human and/or environmental needs;
- Engage in meaningful volunteer service that makes a measurable difference in the community;
- Represent exceptional acts of kindness; and
- Through volunteerism, have an impact on the greater community.

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of community leaders, volunteers, and Office staff. The nominations will be scored and then ranked. Winners will be notified and invited to an awards ceremony in August.
