- Live Location – Falls Church
WHEN
The event takes place in person and via webcast on April 10, 2018.
WHY
The 3 big reasons according to the Center for Watershed Protection:
- A focus on finance. This year’s conference theme is Next Gen Watershed Protection: Fresh Ideas for Funding and Management. Our national webcast talks are designed to help today’s water quality experts not only address pollution but also navigate the world of uncertain program funding and regulatory oversight that can jeopardize watershed restoration projects. Learn about the latest funding strategies — from urban stormwater credit trading and other innovative trading programs to funding resilience — for watershed programs.
- Real-world solutions. Too many conferences leave attendees feeling like they have spent hours only discussing the issues but unclear about how to overcome them. Our conference, on the other hand, will provide you with detailed examples from case studies and lessons learned from past approaches so that you will leave with a firm grasp of tangible solutions and best practices to apply.
- Phase III WIP experts. Attendees in Maryland or Virginia who want to learn about the Chesapeake Bay TMDL Phase III Watershed Implementation Plans (WIPs), due this August, are in luck. Speakers from the Maryland Department of the Environment (at the Maryland location) and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (at the Virginia location) will present on progress to date and successful approaches to meeting the plan requirements, which is key to finally restoring the Chesapeake Bay.
