The Baltimore Regional Transportation Board’s Public Advisory Committee (BRTB-PAC) is seeking new volunteer members. Volunteers are currently sought to fill 3-year terms starting in January 2017.
The Baltimore Regional Transportation Board is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Baltimore region. It is a 12-member board representing the cities of Annapolis and Baltimore, the counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Queen Anne’s and the Maryland Department of Transportation, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland Department of Planning, and the Maryland Transit Administration.
As an MPO, the BRTB is directly responsible for making sure that any money spent on existing and future transportation projects and programs is based on a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive (3-C) planning process. All transportation projects and programs that receive federal funding in the greater Baltimore region go through this planning process.
BRTB-PAC is a diverse group of residents, representatives of community organizations, and industry professionals that provide essential independent, region-oriented advice regarding regional transportation planning and related issues. Members also assist in promoting equity and public awareness and public participation in the regional transportation planning process.
