Anne Arundel County Parks and Recreation Director Rick Anthony has formally taken over the leadership role of the Maryland Association of County Park and Recreation Administrators (MACPRA).  MACPRA is an affiliate of MACo and Anthony has been an active member, testifying before the Maryland General Assembly on proposed legislation and representing both MACPRA and MACo on various workgroups.

Anthony replaces outgoing MACPRA president John Byrd.  Byrd, Howard County’s Recreation and Parks Director, served a MACPRA’s president for several years and helped forge the affiliate into a more effective advocacy body.
