Former Allegany County Commissioner Dale Lewis Dies at 78

Dale Lewis, a three-term Commissioner in Allegany County and former MACo Board member, died at age 78 earlier this month.

The Cumberland Times-News ran a profile of the longtime public servant:

A Republican, Lewis served as county commissioner from 1994-2002 and from 2006-10. He also served on the Board of Education from 1980-1988 and 1990-94.

“I always admired Dale, he would research things and then talk them over … and make tough decisions,” said former commissioner Jim Stakem.
