MACo Supports Comprehensive Approach at Tackling Drug Crisis

Natasha Mehu, MACo Policy Analyst, testified in support of SB 607, Maryland Opioid Use Disorder Consortium on March 12, 2015 to the Senate Finance Committee. This bill assembles a comprehensive group of stakeholders to tackle the opioid use problem in Maryland.

The written testimony states:

By bringing together state and local agencies as well as invested stakeholders, SB 607 maximizes coordination efforts, data and information sharing, and leverages existing resources. A comprehensive plan will help ensure that any existing gaps are identified and addressed and the six-year timeline will ensure that a plan is not only developed but implemented and monitored.

The cross file of this bill, HB 896, was heard in the House Health and Government Operations Committee, March 3, 2015.
