Speed Camera Symposium To Teach Best Practices

MACo is joining with the Prince George’s County Police Department, the Montgomery County Department of Police, the Maryland Municipal League, and AAA to sponsor a symposium on speed cameras.

The symposium is designed to educate local governments on statutory requirements for speed camera programs and best practices for developing vendor contracts, compliance policies and procedures, forming partnerships, and program evaluation.  Proposed statutory changes for the 2014 Session will also be discussed.

The symposium is open to county and municipal officials who currently run a speed camera program or are considering setting up a program.  The symposium is on Wednesday, December 4 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Kenhill Center (Old Bowie City Hall).  The address is:  2614 Kenhill Drive, Bowie, Maryland, 20715.  There is no cost to participate but you must register as space is limited.  Parking is also free and lunch will be provided.

MACo urges counties with speed camera programs to attend this educational event.  For further information and to register, click here.
