Prince George’s County Executive Nominates Three Directors for Key Regulatory Agencies

Posted in a press release on June 10, Prince George’s County Executive, Rushern L. Baker, III, announced the nomination of current Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) Director Dr. Haitham Hijazi as the Director of the County’s newest government agency, the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement (DPIE).  County Executive Baker also nominated Adam Ortiz as the Director of the Department of Environmental Resources (DER), and Darrell Mobley to be Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), replacing Dr. Hijazi.

Noted in the press release, Baker said,

“DER, DPW&T, and our newly formed DPIE, are three critical departments to the quality of life and economy of Prince George’s County.  Each department must have experienced and progressive leadership. I am very pleased to announce Dr. Haitham Hijazi, Darrell Mobley, and Adam Ortiz as my nominees for DPIE, DPW&T and DER, respectively.  These three individuals are leaders with stellar careers and track records of success, recognized for their innovative management and community engagement.  I look forward to working with the Prince George’s County Council through this appointment process.”
