The Marc Steiner Show recently dedicated a program to discussing changes to the Prince George’s County school board prompted by legislation passed by the General Assembly this year. As described by Steiner, yesterday’s program treated “the latest controversy surrounding the Prince George’s County school board as some residents oppose Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker’s power to appoint three members to the school board.”
Washington Post reporter Ovetta Wiggins will give us an update on the story. Then Paul Pinsky, Senator for District 22 in Prince George’s County and Jane Hagey, co-chair of Citizens for an Elected School Board will discuss what the takeover could mean for Prince George’s County Schools.
