Maryland’s State Highway Administration (SHA) is now accepting applications for its recreational trail program funding. Applications are due by 2 p.m. on July 2, 2013.
The Recreational Trails Program is a 80/20, reimbursement based program which provides funds to project sponsors to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both non-motorized and motorized recreational trail uses. Examples of trail uses include hiking, bicycling, in-line skating, equestrian use, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, off-road motorcycling, all-terrain vehicle riding, four-wheel driving, or using other off-road motorized vehicles.
