The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently released an interactive tool which summarizes how each state is funding transportation projects.

The 50-state transportation finance database and interactive map is the most comprehensive resource of its kind based on the Transportation Governance and Finance: A 50-State Review of State Legislatures and Departments of Transportation report jointly developed with the National Conference of State Legislatures. Explore this unique module in two formats: Mapped Data, which shows interactive maps for a 2011 snapshot on Transportation Funding & Finance, Organization & Leadership, and Legislative Interaction; or Tabular Data, which shows tables for all of the mapped data plus state-by-state information on Demographics, State Roadway System, Toll Facilities, Revenue Sources, State DOT Disbursements, and Motor Fuel Taxes between 1992 and 2010.
