Personal Property “Decoupling” Set to Pass the House

MACo’s initative bill to partially decouple the personal property tax rate from the real property tax rate is recently passed the House on third reader, essentially securing its final passage.  As previously reported on Conduit Street, the companion bill has already passed the Senate  in identical form.

HB 1190, sponsored by Delegate Sheila Hixson, was voted out of the House Ways and Means Committee with a favorable report, and passed the full House on second reader yesterday.  SB 573 is sponsored by the Senator Jim Robey.
