Deadline Approaching for O’Malley’s Stream Restoration Challenge

Governor O’Malley’s Stream Restoration Challenge is a competitive grant program open to local governments  to establish 1,000 acres of stream-side forests by 2015.  The State has made available $6 million to plant forested stream buffers with the goals of improving bay water quality, environmental literacy, and increasing educational opportunities for middle and high school students. All proposals must be submitted by October 31.  To learn about this opportunity, visit the Department of Natural Resources website.
