The Homebuilders Association of Maryland hosted a panel discussion on the Sustainable Growth and Agricultural Preservation Act of 2012 (SB 236) on June 27. MACo Associate Director Les Knapp, Anne Arundel Planning and Zoning Director Larry Tom, Baltimore County Planning Division Chief Jeff Mayhew, Harford County Deputy Planning Director Tony McClune, and Howard County Planning and Zoning Director Marsha McLaughlin discussed septic system legislation and the ongoing process of implementing the growth tiers that will control how much development can occur on septic systems.
Mr. Knapp presented an in-depth overview of the legislation. Each county planner discussed his or her county’s status in adopting the SB 236 growth tiers and implementing the bill’s other provisions.
