MACo 2012 Summer Conference Session – In the Courts, In the News: Public Safety Legal Issues

Description: Several recent Maryland Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court decisions have raised issues that could significantly impact local correctional services and public safety entities. Case holdings on public defender representation, DNA collection, and the use of strip searches could require local jails to make major procedural changes or shoulder additional cost burdens.  Speakers will discuss the status of the case holdings and the likely county impacts.
