Prince George’s County Ranked 6th Nationally in Technology Use Survey

In an annual survey by the National Association of Counties and the Center for Digital Government, Prince George’s County was ranked 6th among counties with populations of 500,000 or more for use of technology to cut costs and improve services. According to Gazette.Net:

The county’s use of technology has included advancements in public safety communications, such as the use of new 700 megahertz radios, the establishment of a new 911 call center in Bowie, faster network speeds, mobile phone applications that track election returns and increased use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, said Tanya Gott, director of the county’s Office of Information Technology and Communications.

The county’s website also is being redesigned to make it easier to navigate and find information, Gott said, adding that the new site hopefully will launch in November.
