This past May Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt, Jr. submitted a proposal to reorganize the Office of the County Executive. The conceptual proposal would add a chief of staff to the Executive Office, enhance the responsibilities of the public information officer, as well as streamline functions of a number of county departments. As reported by DelmarvaNow.com under Pollitt’s plan the road and solid waste division would remain under the umbrella of the Department of Public Works, but the development function would over to the Department of Planning, Zoning and Community Development. The Wicomico County Council is slated to hold to morning work session on August 16 to discuss the proposal.
