Governor to Discuss Fiscal Proposals at MACo Summer Conference

As reported by the Baltimore Business Journal and CBS News,  Governor O’Malley has said that tax proposals could be considered during the October special session to help close the projected $1 billion budget shortfall for FY 2013.  While specifics are not known,  a recent briefing before the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee explored the possibility of expanding the sales tax to other types of services and to online retailers like Amazon.com.

The Governor plans to discuss his position on tax proposals during his speech on August 20 at the Maryland Association of Counties Conference held at the Ocean City Convention Center.
